Music has always been a big part of my life beginning with playing the violin in the third grade and studying piano from the fifth grade on. Attending Ohio University to pursue a degree in music education, I thought I wanted to be a music teacher in the elementary school systems. Little did I know that was not the road for me. I continue today with my music, having once taught piano and singing in numerous venues. I direct a mixed acapella barbershop chorus that recently performed at the Stuarts Opera House in Nelsonville. I am a member and sing in the First Presbyterian Church Choir in Nelsonville.

I have been involved in student housing in Athens for nearly 38 years.  I enjoy working with the students and have always felt the younger generation keeps you involved and young.  I retired from the College Inn, once privately owned, now known as Bromley Hall and owned by the Ohio University.

To this day, I still hear from some of the Resident Assistants that worked there.  Now, it seems they have college students of their own!

My husband is a retired Electrical Engineer from the DuPont Corporation.  To permit me to follow my dream of working with the students, Bob commuted to Parkersburg, WV for 25 years.  We have two sons, Jeff and Marc and one grandson Damien.  Jeff is a Sr. VP with Huntington Banks and lives in Powell.  Marc is a teaching golf pro in Houston.  Marc’s wife, Ceci, is an IKEA Manager in Houston.  Our grandson is in the 6th grade, continuing in the Vanguard Program.  We have been fortunate the past two summers to have family vacation with our children.

I am an avid reader in addition to my interest in music.  I belong to a ladies book club that meets monthly.  Generally, I will read anything but am and always have been fascinated with the Kennedy family.
